The chapter that I think hit home for me this week was chapter nine, “Lighting the Spark.” The first thing came to mind was, I should always encourage my students, colleagues, children, and anyone that I come into contact with that has the “I can’t “ attitude change it into the “I can.” I must do everything I can to change their mindset from negative to positive. We should combine the many sparks at our schools to generate a fire, which will produce life long learners.

WK3 BP #5 Reading
The big question for me over the last two weeks has been Paper or Presentation? I know I’m not the only one that has to make this decision. It has been a long haul over the last eleven months and now it approaching twelve. I would love to have someone publish my work, but I’ve decided to present.
Wk 3 BP #4 Wimba
I’m posting this blog for Wimba of this week. I thought that getting clarity on the Abstract for our AR and its components was very helpful. The students ask questions that made the remainder of our assignments clearer as well. I really enjoyed hearing what chapters others enjoyed in our reading assignment. Overall great Wimba session.

Week 2 BP#4 Reading
How will I be a contribution today?
I try to enter the doors of our school with a smile and a good morning as I stroll through the halls passing students thinking to myself “It’s going to be a great day!” I try to assist the parents and students as much as possible. I always keep in mind that we have them for the majority of the day and for some this is a safe haven, some are caring the weight of the world on them at such a young age, and as Tricia mention “We need to give them the benefit of a doubt.” It is such a great feeling when you reach at least one and he or she comes back to visit and say, “Thank you for always being there and believing in me.” He then goes to our conference room to speak to a small group of students about his college life. This is my daily contribution.

Week 1 BP#4 Reading
Creative Commons: Copyright Issues
After reading and watching the videos copyrights violations is a very serious issue these days. I think that we see the warning before we make the copy of a photo or worksheet but the focus is on getting the job done by any means necessary so to speak. Sometimes when we are short of a workbook it is second nature to be so focus on making it happen for the students we tend to just run and make the copies and move on. I can understand how this could have a negative impact on fair use act.
